Saya berbicara dengan seorang teman masa kecil saya kemarin yang mengatakan kepada saya bahwa sebuah roket menghantam gedung-gedung yang hanya berjarak satu blok dari rumah tempat saya dibesarkan. Ketika sirene berbunyi, mereka hanya memiliki waktu 90 detik untuk membawa semua orang ke tempat perlindungan bom. Seorang tetangga terbunuh. Meskipun ada dampak kekerasan yang jauh lebih besar di tempat lain, saya masih terkejut mengetahui betapa rentannya kami. Kami berduka bersama teman-teman kami yang mencoba membangun persatuan, tidak hanya antara Arab dan Yahudi, tetapi juga antara orang-orang percaya di tanah yang terpecah belah oleh konflik ini. Sungguh hati kami tercabik-cabik.<\/p>\r\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Karena virus corona, hanya segelintir siswa kami yang masih berada di Yerusalem, sementara ada 100 siswa lainnya yang belajar dari seluruh dunia melalui program perpanjangan tangan Whole Word Institute. Satu hal yang kami pelajari bersama adalah tentang Pentakosta dan pemahaman yang lebih dalam yang kami peroleh melalui Alkitab Ibrani (PL). Minggu ini \"Shavuot\" (Pentakosta) dirayakan dalam tradisi Alkitab sebagai festival buah sulung. Sementara secara pertanian Pentakosta menandai dimulainya panen musim panas, secara spiritual Pentakosta memperingati diterimanya Taurat, Hukum Allah, atau Firman. Imamat 23 memerintahkan imam besar untuk memanggang dua buah roti sebagai persembahan sajian di hadapan Tuhan. Dalam tradisi Ibrani, dua roti tersebut melambangkan loh hukum yang diberikan di Gunung Sinai. Jadi, selain sebagai hari raya buah sulung,\u00a0<span style=\"color: #008080;\">Shavuot juga merupakan festival Firman, dan praktik keimaman roti melambangkan Firman sebagai roti kehidupan.<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Ulangan 26 &amp; 31 menginstruksikan bahwa buah pertama harus dibagikan dan dirayakan dengan orang Lewi, anak-anak, yatim piatu, hamba-hamba, orang asing, janda-janda, dan juga<em>\u00a0<\/em><em>orang asing.<\/em>\u00a0<span style=\"color: #008080;\">Pada hari Shavuot, sudah menjadi tradisi untuk membaca kitab Rut karena pada saat Shavuot, Rut, seorang kafir, dicangkokkan ke dalam bani Israel dan menjadi bagian dari garis kerajaan.<\/span>\u00a0Pikirkan Kisah Para Rasul 2:1-31 - siapa yang berkumpul di Yerusalem pada hari raya Shavuot? Orang-orang berkumpul dari setiap bangsa, bukan hanya orang Yahudi tetapi juga orang bukan Yahudi.<\/p>\r\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><span style=\"color: #008080;\">Makna yang begitu kaya dapat diperoleh ketika terang Roh Kudus dicurahkan ke atas SELURUH Firman Allah.\u00a0<em>Betapa banyak bangsa-bangsa (setiap lidah) membutuhkan seluruh Alkitab untuk memahami sepenuhnya arti penting dari apa yang telah kita terima dan peran kita dalam rencana Allah.\u00a0<\/em><\/span><\/p>\r\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Anda sudah menjadi bagian dari kisah Shavuot\/Pentakosta saat Anda memberikan Firman kepada orang lain yang membutuhkan.
