Niek lives in Jerusalem with his wife and three children. He grew up in the Netherlands, received his ThM from the ETF in Leuven, Belgium. After that he moved to Israel to continue learning Hebrew. He did an MA in the Bible and Its World at Rothberg International School, Jerusalem and a PhD at The Hebrew University of Jerusalem with a dissertation on the language of the book of Isaiah.
He has taught Biblical Hebrew for the Biblical Language Center, The University of the Holy Land and Jerusalem Center for Bible Translators. He has worked with WWin since 2018, starting with a course on Isaiah, but has also taught Biblical Hebrew, poetry, the cultural background of the Hebrew Bible and has led many field trips. He loves to be involved in teaching Bible translators.
