“See, I am doing a new thing! I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.”
– Isaiah 43:19
We have encouraging news to share from around the world, made possible and strengthened by your generous support and faithful prayers. This year we launched our Hebrew Extension Learning Program with local partners in 4 nations—Benin, Indonesia, Ethiopia, and Mozambique. This means that indigenous partner churches and organizations can grow locally operated training in the original biblical languages for faster and deeper discipleship in their communities.
Why is this training so needed? Because our local partners want ongoing full Bible translation and resources—straight from the original language of the Bible to their languages. This is where we can contribute. We’re collaborating with partners in a new method of training that supercharges their local church’s ability to translate Scripture independently. Understanding the biblical language, culture, and context, they can quickly and accurately communicate the full Bible to their communities.
Through the hybrid Hebrew Extension Learning Program (HELP), we serve these local leaders. Hybrid HELP combines in-person classes hosted by our partners on-site in their location with specialized online courses.
The teams and churches involved with HELP in these 4 nations are investing their lives so that their families and communities can know Jesus’ overwhelming love for them and their place in God’s kingdom. Please pray with us that the programs will be instrumental in building greater biblical knowledge and that all will be richly fed with God’s living Word.
Meanwhile, back in Jerusalem, our student translators graduate this week from the School of Biblical Hebrew. We are thrilled to soon commission them to go out and work on translations straight from the biblical text for languages that don’t have the whole Bible. More news on this celebration of God’s multiplying harvest is coming up!
