A one-of-a-kind immersive program that equips translators to work directly from biblical Hebrew for Old Testament translation on the field. Learn Hebrew deeply—and live it daily—in the land of the Bible.
The intensive School of Biblical Hebrew teaches biblical Hebrew as a “living language” enabling students to achieve basic translation proficiency in just 9 months.
SBH is both a stand-alone program as well as a prerequisite to the certificate and master’s programs.
9 Months in Jerusalem
MA in Classical (Biblical) Hebrew with Specialization in Hebrew Pedagogy & Instruction
This program is designed for those desiring to multiply translations directly from the original authoritative Scriptures by teaching living biblical Hebrew to others and to earn an MA in the process. It consists of the SBH, additional advanced Hebrew course work, Hebrew Pedagogy plus an internship in Hebrew Instruction.
12-21 months in Jerusalem and 3-12 months in the field
MA in in Classical Hebrew with Specializations in Translation Consulting and Assisted Translation Technologies*
This program is designed for those desiring to multiply translations by managing translation teams working directly from the original authoritative Scriptures into their own languages utilizing assisted translation technologies. It consists of the SBH and ATT Laboratory learning experience, coupled with Consultant Training and field internship.
12 months in Jerusalem and 6-12 months in the field

12 Months in Jerusalem
This program is designed to train translators in biblical Hebrew and the use of Assisted Translation Technologies as part of an Old Testament translation project. During the program, students will translate pre-selected key terms and verses from across all the OT genres into their own language to create the language dataset needed to accelerate translations utilizing AI technology.
In addition to achieving biblical Hebrew proficiency, students who successfully complete the SBH will remain in Jerusalem for a laboratory-style learning experience in using translation tools and translation project management software programs to accelerate their OT translation project.
Upon completion of the program, participants will be able to use these tools in their language projects and will be able to utilize a proprietary AI project management program to complete their translation project. Ongoing coaching in biblical Hebrew and assistance with translation can be provided as needed.
The Assisted Translation Technologies certificate will also be offered to previous graduates of the SBH who represent a translation workforce spread around the globe, trained in biblical Hebrew and ready to engage with innovative technology to accelerate whole Bible translation.

These programs are designed for those desiring to multiply translations directly from the original authoritative Scriptures by teaching living biblical Hebrew or living biblical Hebrew and Assisted Translation Technology (ATT) skills to others. The first option consists of the SBH plus Pedagogy and additional advanced Hebrew. The second option also includes the Technology Tools Laboratory experience. Qualifying students may select either option.
