OVERVIEW OF CLASSICAL (BIBLICAL) HEBREW MA PROGRAM

The MA in Classical (Biblical) Hebrew is a fully accredited biblical language training program designed for those who already have a BA. This program consists of four to six semesters of residence in Jerusalem during which each participant completes the School of Biblical Hebrew plus an additional period of study depending upon the program selected as described below.   

PARTE 1: ESCOLA DE HEBRAICO BÍBLICO

The first part of study is the School of Biblical Hebrew (SBH) in Jerusalem, in order to attain basic translation proficiency in Biblical Hebrew (48 credits). (See SBH page for more information.)

PART 2: ADDITIONAL JERUSALEM SEMESTERS

Upon completion of the SBH, while still in Jerusalem, participants may undertake additional semesters. Participants who have successfully completed the SBH will have completed level Gimel (level 3) in Hebrew. Participants who desire to complete the MA in Classical Hebrew will take one additional semester which will include completing level Dalet. (level 4). 

Those who want to qualify to become Biblical Hebrew Instructors will take a fourth, fifth and sixth semester completing levels Dalet, (4) Heh (5) and Vav (6) concurrent with additional courses: See below for sample course offerings

Antes da formatura, espera-se que cada aluno tenha lido a Bíblia hebraica. O requisito mínimo absoluto inclui a Torá (Breshit a Dvarim), os primeiros 12 capítulos de Isaías e 30 Salmos selecionados.
