Our Leaders Advancing Bible Translations Worldwide

Feb 26, 2025 | Updates, Latest News

Here are three examples of what your prayers and support are making possible. The leaders below—translation teachers and multipliers—are equipping others and overseeing multiple translation projects in order to bring God’s whole Word from the original biblical languages into local languages.

Raffaela

Raffaela is a Hebrew teacher, mentor, and Translation Consultant-in-Training in Jerusalem.

“It was when I came to work with Whole Word Institute that I realized the great need for more Bible translators, especially consultants. Ever since the Lord has grown my passion for equipping translators as I have heard the stories of our students and seen their dream of giving their people God’s Word in their language. Next to being a teacher, I am in training to become a consultant myself. It is a privilege to think that I might assist those in the field of translation, helping their dream of a Bible for their people come true. The Lord is bringing students to Whole Word to equip them and shape their hearts. Through their visions and dreams, He has also shaped me in ways I never imagined.”

Please pray for Raffaela as she continues her training to equip more translators.

Godefroy

Trained in Jerusalem to oversee multiple Old Testament translation projects, Godefroy now leads the first Hybrid Hebrew Extension Learning Program (HELP) in Benin. This locally based program equips African translators to work directly from biblical Hebrew into their own languages. In partnership with Wycliffe Benin, Hybrid HELP in Benin strengthens local leaders to guide Scripture translation and discipleship efforts, building up the Church across West Africa.

“My dream, my most ardent desire is that our communities should have the Word of God. God has made His Word available so that we may know Him… Without Genesis and the rest of the Old Testament, how can we fully understand God the Creator’s plan of salvation? I sincerely hope that within a few years, the entire community will have access to the Word of God, whether in written or audio form.”

Please pray for Godefroy and the growing team in Benin as they train translators and help bring the whole Bible to their communities.

Magen

We celebrate Magen’s completion of his Master’s degree in Biblical Hebrew & Translation Consulting with a specialization in Sign Language Bible Translation. He soon joins the handful of people worldwide who are able to oversee multiple Sign Language Bible translations.

Magen serves as our Associate Director of the Center for Deaf Scriptures. He lives in Jerusalem with his wife, Alona, who is a Teaching Assistant & Hebrew mentor for Whole Word Institute, and SL Interpreter for our students.

Pray for Magen as he takes on further responsibilities globally with this vital role. Congratulations, Magen!

More to come on how God is working through Whole Word translators and teachers around the world!

Thank you for sharing the Word,
